Important Message from the Commodore, September 17th

Dear BYC Members,
With the transition to cooler weather and indoor dining, I wanted to refresh you all on some points in the Code of Conduct. Kindly take a moment to carefully read through the Code of Conduct, updated September 17th, that is available on our website.
Masks are mandatory as per the current Temporary Mandatory By-Law for the City of Ottawa. Everyone coming to the Club must carry a mask or face covering and wear it over the nose and mouth when you enter and exit the Club House, while in indoor common areas including washrooms and/or are within 2 meters of another person. It should only be removed for the purpose of eating and drinking. Fines for failure to comply are currently $240 for the individual and $490 for the business.
Guest Policy:
A reminder that at this time we are not accepting guests at BYC and all Reciprocal privileges have been suspended.
Dining Policies:
1.     There is a maximum of 6 people per table. These limits must be respected at all times.
2.     Tables must be left in place to ensure a 6 foot distance between parties.
3.     At this time, as per Ottawa Public Health, all food and beverage service must be done table side. We are not permitted to serve members who are not seated. Therefore, please wait at your table to place your food and drink order and do not approach the bar
As indoor seating is limited, we will now be accepting reservations as well as drop ins. We encourage you to call ahead to ensure that tables will be available as we have restrictions on how many people can be in the club at one time.
Your Board of Directors have adopted these policies in accordance with the current guidelines set forth by the Province of Ontario and Ottawa Public Health. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation with regards to these procedures. Failure to comply with the current Code of Conduct can result in disciplinary action, including being asked to leave the property.
Should you have any questions or concerns please contact Paul Moore directly at 613-769-5338 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Yours Truly,
Lisa Shishis, RN
