World Sailing Offshore Personal Survival course: Eric Hill is returning to teach this course at BYC, April 18-19, 2020.  

This two-day course is suitable for cruisers and racers, and is a prerequisite for many offshore races. No prerequisites or sailing experience needed. Awarded certificates are valid for 5 years (if you took the course in 2015 and need a valid certificate, you should renew this year at the refresher rate).

In-class topics include heavy weather seamanship, storm equipment, dealing with emergencies, damage control, search and rescue, ship abandonment, weather, survival, and much more.

Practical training includes life raft deployment, righting, and boarding drills, cold-water survival techniques, and hand-held distress flare deployment.
 
Class size is limited to 14 students.

Tuition: $549 including tax; $499 refresher rate if you took the class in the last 5 years.
